Introduction #
After connecting your device to WiFi, it must be configured in the Qilowatt app with the correct details. This ensures that the system recognizes the device, links it with the correct electrical appliance, and displays measurements accurately.
Prerequisites #
• A Qilowatt account has been created → Creating a user account
• The device is connected to WiFi → Connecting the device to WiFi
• The Qilowatt app is open and device setup has been started

Step-by-step Guide #
1. Configuring Device info #
• Open the Qilowatt app and select My devices from the left menu.
• Choose your device named Qilowatt-XXX.
• Scroll down and find the Device info section.
• Click Edit.
• Make the following settings:
Hardware type – select the correct module
Device name – give the device a name (e.g., “Main house inverter”)
Country – select the country (used for local electricity prices)
• Click Save.
• Choose your device named Qilowatt-XXX.
• Scroll down and find the Device info section.
• Click Edit.
• Make the following settings:
Hardware type – select the correct module
Device name – give the device a name (e.g., “Main house inverter”)
Country – select the country (used for local electricity prices)
• Click Save.
After saving, the device will restart!
2. Configuring My electrical device #
• Re-open My Devices from the left menu.
• Select the device whose electrical appliance information you want to change.
• Scroll down and find the My Electrical Appliance section.
• Press the Edit button.
• Make the following settings:
Manufacturer, model and type – select the appropriate device (e.g., inverter manufacturer and model)
If you want the system to automatically create sample timers, press Generate Timers
• Press Save.
• Select the device whose electrical appliance information you want to change.
• Scroll down and find the My Electrical Appliance section.
• Press the Edit button.
• Make the following settings:
Manufacturer, model and type – select the appropriate device (e.g., inverter manufacturer and model)
If you want the system to automatically create sample timers, press Generate Timers
• Press Save.
After saving, the device will restart. For solar inverters, it may take up to 3 minutes for data to appear – check if data is displayed in the inverter view and lines are drawn on the graph.
Result #
Device info and My electrical device are configured. Qilowatt uses this information to display correct measurements and apply the appropriate control logic.
If it Doesn’t Work #
• If the device does not appear in the list, check whether it is connected to WiFi.
• If data does not refresh within 3 minutes, close and reopen the app.
